3 unearthed photos
Our friends at The Neighborhood Preservation Center found some Poetry Project related photographs in their image archive.The first photo depicts Anne Waldman, Reverend David Garcia and Stephen Facey. Not sure which Bishop that is or who the child is. The second photo is John Giorno reading in the Parish Hall. Looks pre-fire. Nice podium. The third photo, I believe, shows members of the Preservation Youth Project in the East Yard. They created the two courtyards that we all enjoy today by installing a cobblestone paving over the burial ground. If you look closely you can see Anne Waldman and Larry Fagin in the group. I believe the bishop in the first photo is Paul Moore, Bishop of the Diocese of New York from 1972 to 1989. I’m guessing this photo dates from the late 70s or early 80s.
