The Thanksgiving Poets’ Potluck is an opportunity for New York City’s poetry community(ies) to come together for an evening of readings, performances, and delicious food.  An array of writers, both new and seasoned veterans to the Poetry Project, will read/perform their work.  Admission is free if you come with a dish.  Any one interested in bringing a dish for the potluck will contribute to an amazing Thanksgiving feast.  If you’re interested in bringing food, please email Brett Price at fridaynightseriesp@gmail.com.

    Hola –

My name’s Edwin Wilson Rivera, and I’m interested in participating as a featured reader. I’ve read in places as low-down cool as Smalls Jazz Club to street-heat venues such as Nuyorican. I’m currently a second-year MFA student at the New School. In July of 2011, I nabbed the Norman Mailer Fellowship Award in fiction. I’ve published far, wide, and north-by-northwest. I believe I can bring in a good and groovy crowd–not quite aw-my-God celebrity–but the best that an unknown can hope for.

    Thanks for your time!

    Hi Edwin -
Thanks, we’ll email you with details!

    Hello,

May I ask what it takes to be reader? Currently, I am a student at Brooklyn College who is working two degrees, both in Journalism and Creative Writing.

Much of my poetry focuses on PTSD and suicide. I could send a sample if you like.

I do have some publications, but I am sure that they are not impressive as some of the others at the reading.

Thanks for your time, and either way, I do plan to be at the event.
    -Joe

Hi Joe – I’m passing along your query to the host of the Friday Late Night Reading Series. Thanks much.
