Martine Bellen & Andrew Levy

Martine Bellen is the author of Ghosts! (Spuyten Duyvil Press), The Vulnerability of Order (Copper Canyon Press); Tales of Murasaki and other Stories (Sun & Moon Press), and the novella 2X(Squared), among other works. Her poetry collection The Wayback Machine is forthcoming (Furniture Press Books). With David Rosenboom, Bellen collaborated on Ah! Opera No-Opera, which was co-composed and performed by creators from around the globe and premiered at Redcat in L.A. Presently she’s collaborating with Zhang Er on a series of Moon Lady libretti. Andrew Levy is the author of Don’t Forget to Breathe (Chax Press, 2012), Nothing Is In Here (EOAGH Books), Cracking Up (Truck Books), The Big Melt (Factory School), Ashoka (Zasterle Books), Paper Head Last Lyrics (Roof Books), Values Chauffeur You (O Books), and seven other titles of poetry and prose. His poems and essays have appeared in numerous American and international magazines as well as anthologies including Writing from the New Coast, The Art of Practice: 45 Contemporary Poets, The Gertrude Stein Awards in Innovative American Poetry, and Telling It Slant: Avant-Garde Poetics of the 1990s. With Roberto Harrison, Andrew edited and published the poetry journal Crayon from 1997-2008. He will be joined by saxophonist Dave Barrett. Barrett is best known as a member of semi-legendary West Coast bands The Splatter Trio, Club Foot Orchestra, and No Sisters.  He has enjoyed collaborating with poets including Steve Benson, Carla Harryman, Dale Goodson, Norman Fischer, and at long last, his college buddy Andrew Levy.
